NHS recommended vacuum pumps for ED

Vacuum therapy devices are not available on the NHS. These are however available on NHS prescription subject to certain conditions. As per the Schedule 11 there are certain groups of patients identified by the Department of Health who are eligible for treatment at NHS expense. Farnhurst Elite Vacuum Therapy Devices and products for treating Erectile Dysfunction (ED) are listed in part IXA of the Drug Tariff.

Prescriptions for eligible patients should be written on an FP10 form and clearly endorsed SLS (Special List Scheme). Important prescription contents:

•          Order code

•          Pip code

Who is eligible for Farnhurst Elite Vacuum Therapy Devices and Products on NHS Prescription (FP10)? Patients with ED who suffer from one of the following conditions:

• Diabetes
• Spinal cord injury
• Single gene neurological disease
• Poliomyelitis
• Severe pelvic injury
• Prostate Cancer
• Multiple Sclerosis
• Parkinson’s disease
• Spina bifida
• Prostatectomy
• Renal failure treated by transplant or dialysis
